Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office in collaboration with several local nonprofit organizations, businesses and government agencies hold regular Second Chance Hiring Fairs specifically for formerly incarcerated and justice involved individuals. The DA’s office recognizes there is significant correlation between crime and poverty; which is exacerbated with the prohibitive effect criminal histories have when attempting to secure employment. Therefore, connecting this target population with felony friendly prospective employers is an effort to begin meaningful community outreach for our often forgotten citizens. We invite job-seekers with criminal histories to register and attend our Second Chance Hiring Fair
Our goal is that you will be connected with your future employer and receive a second chance in the form of employment and become a successful and productive citizen.
“It is only right for people with criminal histories to have fair opportunity to secure jobs to reach their full potential to become self-sufficient, productive citizens.”
